My name is Nancy, and I was born and raised in Mola di Bari, Italy. My passion for learning and teaching other languages started early on when I had to learn the English language. I found the whole learning process fascinating and I continued learning French and Spanish. I have a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and International Business and a Masters in Education. During this time, I worked for Berlitz International Languages, teaching both English and Italian. I also worked for Language Stars, a language company for kids. I have also taught as an adjunct Italian professor at various Colleges and Universities in both Illinois and California. As you can see from my background, I truly loved to teach and to learn from my diverse students.
What you can expect from me as a tutor is a variety of teaching methods. As a foreign language student, I understand that we, as individuals, have different learning styles and goals. As a beginner, you will learn a lot of vocabulary, read simple stories, and play many games to open your mind to a whole new culture. As you progress in your lessons, you will be able to write compositions, speak about past and future events, stage plays, and much more. Many times, my students are the ones that give me ideas of what they want to learn in class. So sit back, listen; always ask questions if you don't understand, and parla, parla, parla (speak, speak, speak).
